The Go2dance company directed by the cuban choreographer and dancer Arlene Martínez presents her new show "De Cuba soy" (I am from Cuba) formed by 3 dance couples and a singer presenting a traditional cuban show covering the most important rhythms through music and dance of the Caribbean island.

Integrated by cuban artists "De Cuba soy" bring us a piece of the island through one of the first cultural manifestations of the Caribbean people, the Dance. Like the music, with indissoluble links, the dance takes place in Cuba in a peculiar way since the first centuries of colonization, transcending borders and having points of communion with the Caribbean, the rest of the American continent and Europe.

During the show they will recreate some of the most famous songs of the Cuban musc history, which are already universal heritage... presented through stunning choreographies: big group numbers, sensual trios and passionated duos.

The show is complemented by images projected on a large background screen taking the audience to the geographical and social context of each dance.

Danzón, son, mambo, rumba, chachachá or casino will transport us from colonial Cuba to the most modern and contemporary latin dance in a vibrant show where we will enjoy a variety of the most popular caribbean rhythms of the Island.

ARLENE MARTÍNEZ

She is a dancer, choreographer, producer and teacher.

She has a broad career as master of latin dance and popular dance, as well as in the world of entertainment, and is closely linked to the local Cuban and Latin American artistic movement.

In his native Cuba she studied Cuban and Latin American popular and folk dances, as well as international folklore. She completed her formation with studies of classical and contemporary dance, elementary percussion, acting and musical theater.

For 10 years, she has integrated several Havana dance companies, like “Neotango”, “Conjunto Danzario Universitario Alma Mater” and “Café con Tap”, becoming the artistic director in the last two companies.

In this experience, she was evaluated as a professional dancer, received numerous awards and presented herself at the most important theaters in Havana.

In the international arena, she has presented shows in USA, Italy, France, Spain, Estonia among many others and joined an Artistic Brigade to support the victims of the earthquake in Haiti in 2010.
